Hello and welcome to my portfolio web site. I’m Matthew Dimmett, and I’m a designer. I’m also a gamer, an audiophile, and a sports enthusiast. While design is my first love, I am well versed in Web Design and Development, Print Design, Interactive Development, and Branding. I am currently employed as a Junior Designer at Platinum Creative, the in-house design department for Full Sail University, Los Angeles Film School, and Los Angeles Recording School. I also work as a freelance designer. If you would like to inquire about hiring me for a freelance gig, or even if you just want to say hey, contact me directly at mdimmett@gmail.com.
The goal of this project was to provide the client with their first web site for menu, marketing and franchise purposes. The over all look and feel of this project is inspired by the clients’ upbringing in the everglades of southern Florida. Special thanks goes to Zak Frazier for providing XHTML and CSS.

This project is a personal piece I designed for a contest hosted by Metropark Fashion. The goal of this piece was to create an original t-shirt design for a line honoring one of my artistic influences, street artist Obey Giant.

This look of this project is inspired by Las Vegas, to reflect the spirit of WMS Gaming, a company which produces gambling based arcade games.

This project is a concept I created for a line of men and women’s t-shirts Full Sail University’s retail outlet, the HangR. The concept of this design is to bridge the gap between music and the recording arts degree at full sail university.

This project is also a concept for the HangR at Full Sail University. The concept of this design is to honor the history and nostalgia of retro gaming, which has inspired love for gaming in many people.

This project is an inside joke that grew legs and became a fun personal design project. My inspiration came from one of my creative directors at Platinum who enjoys a good dance during a night out at the bars. This project lives on at Platinum Creative as a ubiquitous paper doll complete with metal brads for the joints.

This character started out as a doodle I sketched in a creative meeting, but I developed it further for a direct mail piece for the LA Schools. The original character was done in Illustrator, which I then turned into a textured Photoshop illustration.

Since I started working at Platinum Creative I’ve become somewhat of an expert at Email marketing. I chose this piece because its simple and streamlined design captures the look and feel of LA.

The concept of this marketing email was to show an “edgy” side of the Los Angeles Recording School. The difficulty of this project was flushing out the large amount of content in the email.

Every year Full Sail University is the host sponsor for the Florida Film Festival. This year we also hosted the Festival’s Film Makers’ party. I worked on this project in cooperation with my coworker Jesse Bussey. We collaborated from concept through final artwork on everything from Posters, T-shirts, Buttons and Coasters for this project. My main contribution was asset creation and conceptualization. This poster is one of two posters of a film flower Jesse and I created together practically with a film reel, 35mm film, sculpting wire and tape.

This is the first of three sets of logos I created for a client with a start up car restoration business. This first set’s concept was based off of racing sponsors logos such as STP Fuel Additives.

This project was originally meant to be a simple redesign of the A and H Painting’s website, but the project quickly spiraled into a full-blown rebranding project. I ended up designing a logo, business cards, coupons and a website all in one package.

This is a redesign for the actress Tracy Wiu’s website. Tracy asked me for a website that was very simple and very clean. Because Tracy is the face of Full Sail University as well as a talented host and actor I knew that the look of her website was important to her, and worked closely with her to accommodate her needs. I decided to design a site to compliment rather than distract from her photos.

This is a website redesign that I worked on with designer Erika Greco. Erika and I both created designs for this site to send to the client. The client liked them both, so we combined the best parts of each of the designs. This project used Design Flash and Code practically equally.

This site was created as the complimentary blog to keyingredient.com, a cooking and recipe based social networking site. This was my first go at working with, stripping down and rebuilding a wordpress site. The concept for this site was a very simple, airy, and bright site that would compliment the main website. I also created the logo and overall branding for this project.
